Off base living allows for military families to do their own military moving the way they want to do it. The military will then reimburse the family for their military moving expenses. The meals eaten and up to 3 nights in a motel can also be reimbursed when long distance military moving is required. The family can use rental moving trucks. However, the truck rental is limited to the mileage from base to base.
